Nature Management in Practice

This course can be selected as an addition course for the Bachelor's degrees in Nature Management, normally upon successful completion of the first year of study. However, it may also be relevant for students in their first year of study. This course may not be included in a Bachelor's degree programme, but will come in addition to it.
The subject is reserved for the study programme Bachelor of Nature Management.
Students must meet current admission requirements for the associated study program.
Upon completion of the course, the student is expected to:
Knowledge:
- have knowledge of the host organisation’s work tasks and how they are performed
Skills:
- can reflect over their own professional performance in the role
- can create a structured report in which they reflect upon relevant work tasks
General competence:
- have the ability to work to fixed procedures and instructions
- have insight into issues of workplace ethics
- have the ability to communicate experience and points of view based on their participation in the work place
Paid semester fee and syllabus literature. It is also required that students have a laptop at their disposal. Semester fees and cost of course literature apply.
Elective course for students at Nature Management.
It rests on the student to find an institution (or two institutions) with which a written agreement can be entered into between the student, Nord University and the institution(s). The institution(s) selected are subject to approval by the course officer.
Evaluated annually by students through course surveys. These evaluations are included in the university’s quality assurance system.
The work placement should extend over a period of three weeks, two of which must be consecutive. Following completion of the work placement, the student should write a report adhering to guidelines from the course officer.
No prior knowledge is required beyond the admission requirement.
