Management and Facilitation

This course provides students with an introduction to practical facilitation and management related to environmental values in cultural heritage landscape and other nature areas. Course contents:
- facilitation and management in various areas of nature
- planning and carrying out nature management initiatives
- facilitating the use of areas in teaching
- maintaining environmental values and seeing opportunities for local creation of wealth
Upon successful completion of this course, the student:
Knowledge:
- has thorough knowledge of the use of various equipment as well as of choice of materials
- has thorough knowledge of various nature management initiatives
Skills:
- can organise and carry out practical nature management initiatives
- can facilitate using areas of environmental value in teaching
General competence:
- can plan potential needs for facilitation and management of various nature areas as well as cultural heritage areas
No tuition fees. Semester fees and cost of course literature apply.
Compulsory
Field-based teaching, group work and excursions.
Evaluation using mid-term and final surveys. Students are also encouraged to participate in the central quality surveys.
