Clinical Practice: Home Based Nursing
The course builds on previous theoretical and supervised professional training studies. The student will develop practical nursing skills in the community. The target group is patients with short and long-term health problems. The goal is for the patient to regain their health, to master and live with their health challenges and/or a dignified end to life.
Rehabilitation, health promotion and prevention are key and require interdisciplinary collaboration.

In the event that a pass grade has not been achieved for the period of supervised professional training, the period of supervised professional training must be repeated before the student is able to proceed to other periods of supervised professional training.
Knowledge
- have broad knowledge of people-centred nursing
- have knowledge about the most common diseases, symptoms, prognoses and treatments
- have knowledge of pharmacology and the most common medications used at the place of supervised professional training
- have knowledge of the nurse's area of responsibility and role in home nursing care

Eight weeks of supervised professional training studies in the municipal health service to practice nursing, primarily with older patients, under the supervision of nurses who are familiar with the learning outcomes of the course and have the ability to assess the students’ achievement of such outcomes.
The student will perform tasks relating to the subject area during the supervised professional training studies.
The student will complete a self-assessment in respect of their own achievement of the learning outcomes.
Eight weeks of supervised professional training studies in the municipal health service
SPT - Examination: The student will practice the profession of nursing and their achievement of the learning outcomes will be assessed throughout the process. In the event that there is a risk that the student will not pass, the student must be notified in writing at the time of the interim assessment or at least three weeks before the final assessment is due to take place, any shortcomings must be specified and documented and the student must be given the opportunity to work on these up until the final assessment.
An accurate assessment can be ensured through collaboration between the placement supervisor and the lecturer based on clear learning outcomes for which the student will also have the opportunity to assess themselves.

90% attendance during the supervised professional training
Achievement of learning outcomes
Approved written, practical and/or oral assignments
Grading scale: Pass/fail
