Housing and Community Work
The course gives an introduction to perspectives on social housing and community work. The course is aimed at students who wish to develop a critical understanding of the wide range of theories and methods on housing and community work. Students will further develop the ability to design and manage community projects. The course addresses issues such as identifying relevant theories and methods for project work, risk assessment and assessment of community dynamics.
The examination response may be submitted in English or Norwegian.
- Completed Bachelor in Social Science with an average grade C or have a relevant Bachelor's Degree with an average grade C or better which could qualify for admission to Master in Social Science (Norwegian version)

- Enhance knowledge on social housing and community work
- Be able to collect and analyze relevant information about communities and is also able to report the findings.
- Be able to see opportunities at macro-, meso- and micro- levels in communities.
- Be able to reflect on the understanding of a specific situation and is also able to justify the chosen methods for community work.
- Be able to reflect on his/her own continuing professional development.
General competence:
Upon successful completion of this course the student will have general skills in:
- critically reflecting on the relevance of social housing and community work in society.
