An 8 week/240 hour clinical practice study at a nursing home per learning outcome descriptions.
Bachelor in nursing
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: ¿ Demonstrate the ability to develop relational competence ¿ Provide sound nursing care ¿ Utilise knowledge of the most common psychiatric illnesses ¿ Actively participate in the planning and implementation of various methods and principles in the clinical field ¿ Safeguard the patient¿s need for health promotion, coping, enabling and preventive-type care ¿ Safeguard the patient¿s need for information, counseling and guidance ¿ Utilise knowledge of client involvement ¿ Utilise the documentation system, actively participate in nurse hand-off report and document own work ¿ Administrate medicine in a professionally sound way ¿ Have insight into the preparation and use of individual care plans ¿ Acquire knowledge in the practical use of current laws and legislation ¿ Demonstrate the ability to reflect over ethical challenges when working with psychiatric illnesses network system ¿ Plan his or her work and demonstrate the ability to cooperate with colleagues and other agencies

The study programme is evaluated annually by students by way of course evaluation studies (mid-term evaluation and final evaluation). These evaluations are included in the university¿s quality assurance system.
