Bachelor's Thesis

SYK180H
This course deals with the preparation and devlopment of the final research paper. By following the research process, the student will present his or her professional work in written form.
Bachelor in Nursing

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Describe and reflect on various scientific perspectives and methods in relation to nursing
  • Critical inquiry and assessment of nursing research results and its significance for nursing and practise ¿ Formulate a research question, search, evaluate and use relevant sources and research methods, analyse data material and discuss the results
  • Make ethical decisions in research

For the research project, the student can choose between:

Take a central theme and delineate this theme. The student is expected to reflect on this limited theme and discuss/argue using theory as well as personal knowledge and experience.

Through reflection and a narrative language, use an essay-like style to demonstrate the familiarity with the theme, using current research and literature and emphasising the relevance to nursing practice and the student¿s own professional practice.

No costs except semester registration fee and syllabus literature.

Project seminar, meetings with project supervisor and independent work
The study programme is evaluated annually by students by way of course evaluation studies (mid-term evaluation and final evaluation). These evaluations are included in the university¿s quality assurance system.
