Music 2
The course has 3 components: Singing, Composing and Ensemble Playing.
Singing is a continuation of Music 1’s focus on singing technique and voice care, but with smaller groups, solo singing, and a wider range of genres.
Composing develops the work in Music 1, with a focus on composing for theater and film. Students get insight into compositional methods and an understanding of music as a co-narrator in theater and film. Students get practical experience in integrating music in various theater styles and forms.
In Ensemble Playing, students learn to play one or more instruments, to play as part of an ensemble, and perform music collectively on stage.

All teaching takes place at the place of study.
The teaching is organized in fixed weekly work sessions and extended work sessions in connection with screenings and concerts. Work outside fixed times must be expected in periods .
Specific forms of work:
SINGING
- Ensemble singing, solo singing, singing technique and voice care :
Rehearsal of repertoire in various ensemble sizes and genres through work in full class, groups and individual teaching. The work is teacher-led, partly with student-led practice. Concerts and screenings.
- Individual development of singing skills: Masterclass , teaching in smaller groups, individual teaching.
- Work with individual repertoire: individual guidance, rehearsal with a band or other accompaniment
- Stage presentation: concert-focused practice with band or other accompaniment , performances for the public, including evaluation
The composition part.
- Further insight into the function of music in theater and film: presentation and analysis of various works by the teacher, the students' testing of their own work.
- Composition specifically for theatre: solving tasks in groups based on different musical , narrative and dramaturgical frameworks
- Integration of self-composed music in theater productions: the students' testing and performance of their own theater products with self-composed music
The interaction part
- Development of instrumental skills: beginner training (possibly advanced training) on one or more of the instruments bass, percussion , guitar or piano. Class teaching, group exercises, individual exercises
- Development of interaction skills : . Class teaching and group practice
- Rehearsal of repertoire: rehearsal period with specific rehearsal of repertoire. Student-run with the guidance of a teacher
- Performance of repertoire: planning, preparation, execution and evaluation of concerts
Compulsory attendance.
The work in the subject mainly takes place in the full class or in groups, where it is dependent on everyone at all times
participates and contributes. Therefore, the subject has compulsory attendance
Nord University works continuously to improve the quality of its studies. In this work, we work closely with the students: in that the students participate in the evaluation of both the individual courses and the study as a whole. Evaluation in each course will take place by:
- At the start of a course: clarification of expectations between lecturer and students
- Continual evaluation throughout the semester
- Final evaluation
Comprehensive evaluation of the study takes place at regular meetings between representatives for the students and study leaders at Nord University. Students are also encouraged to participate in the central quality surveys.
Composite Assessment - all components must be approved/passed to receive a grade in the course.
Mandatory Attendance (OD): Mandatory attendance in teaching is assessed as approved/not approved. A minimum of 90% attendance is required. Counts for 0/100 of the final grade.
Work requirements (AK): 2 practical/written work requirements. Assessed as approved/not approved. Counts for 0/100 of the final grade.
Practical Exam (PE): Examination in groups (stage performance) Individual assessment. Duration up to six hours. Grading scale: pass/fail. Counts for 100/100 of the final grade.
