Shorter programme

Modern Norwegian History

Programme description

This semester package is ideally, but not exclusively, recommended for international students who stay a year and had the chance to take the package Introduction to Norwegian History before. Next to an introductory course to modern Norwegian history since 1815, it will offer advanced courses about Norway’s modern history, with a special focus on Sámi history and the rise of fascism in the Scandinavian country under German occupation. The courses do link historical developments to social science theory and therefore also offer a wider scope for students interested in social sciences and the humanities.
