This course takes the students through a profoundly personal exploration to build ones authentic self in ones future leadership.
We explore one’s own purpose, values and capabilities to build character and integrity in one’s leadership.
By engaging in meaningful curiosity, reflections and conversations that are theoretically-supported in trust-based Leader Development Groups we search for personal development in leadership.
The course learning outcomes:
Knowledge:
- Has in-depth theoretical knowledge about authentic leadership and can apply the knowledge to the development of one's own authenticity.
- Can analyze leadership experiences to identify critical lessons that inform authentic leadership.
Skills:
- Can apply relevant theoretical concepts and methods for developing authentic leaders.
- Can explore and develop one's own unique leadership qualities in order to better lead oneself and others in an authentic way.
- Can form insights and understandings about one's authentic leadership style and strengthen one's own character.
General competence:
- To participate in reflects and discussions about the nature of leadership in small-groups.
Can leading organizations with confidence and integrity.
The lectures are based on interactive lessons through self-reflection and leadership development groups.
It is a flipped-classroom that expects students to read curriculum and listen to video lectures before coming to class.
As it is a leadership development course, the students are expected to share their thoughts and perspectives on leadership issues.
The lectures are run in blocks, not on a regular weekly basis (the students selecting this course, must ensure that there is not any overlaps with other courses taken).
