Management

LED2006
The course introduces students to a wide selection of theories within the field of management, human resource management and human resource policy, and also understand the organization in a wider context. The course provides a relevant academic foundation for understanding the role of the manager and for practicing management in small and medium-sized organisations, in accordance with good practice.

Knowledge

After completion of the course, students must have:

  • broad knowledge within management theory and the development of the personnel administration subject.
  • broad knowledge of organizational perspectives, concepts and the subject's historical development.
  • insight into environmental management, ethics and sustainability
  • knowledge of key principles and procedures for promoting learning and competence development in the organisation.

Skills

After completion of the course, the student must:

  • be able to elaborate on the field's key terms.
  • be able to account for different perspectives within organizational and management theory.
  • have insight into various selection methods in recruitment processes and apply these.
  • have insight into key points that are included in associate interviews.

General competencies

After completion of the course, the student should be able to:

  • reflect and discuss issues and challenges that managers face, including ethical issues, internationalization and ethnic diversity in working life, with other colleagues.
  • find out and update own knowledge in the subject area.
Compulsory

The teaching is carried out as lectures, group work, discussions, cases and assessment tasks.

Assessment task, 2 out of 3 reflection notes must be approved, counts for 0/100 of the grade.

Written exam, 4 hours, comprises 100/100 of the grade, A-F
